My first Sony DJ Dat players with customised case art by Jimmy C, Goa '92

 

All the various model Dat players were highly neurotic and prone to malfunction, but were extremely practical for the parties. I even met the designer engineer of the TCD-3. He was amazed at use they had been put through at hard core out door parties with swirling dust from stampeding dance floors in Goa.

Sony replaced one TCD-3 which they couldn't fix, and were notoriously expensive to service.
